As you have probably seen on TV, Nashville has been affected by a major flood in the last few weeks. We received 14 feet of rain in two days which is more than the monthly average. A lot of people have lost their homes and some have lost their lives. Major landmarks like the Grand Ole Opry, Opryland Hotel, LP Field and many others were flooded and/or damaged. 

So many people have lent a hand to help people in need by donating time, money, food, clothing and shelter. Many other towns and cities in and around Nashville suffer too. Clarksville, Bellevue and Franklin are some that I can think of off hand but there are a lot more that are in desperate need.

I think that each and every resident of Nashville and surrounding areas have been effected in some way from this flood. It has been surreal to see the pictures of the damage that this amount of rain has caused and to witness the tremendous outpouring of people willing to put their lives on hold in order to give to someone else. Some are family and friends while others are complete strangers. I am proud to say that I live in Middle Tennessee.

I have included pictures that Melissa took that show you have much downtown has been impacted. Fortunately, neither one of us was directly impacted in anyway but we are praying for those who have been.

My family and I went to San Francisco, CA and had a fabulous time. We did all the things tourists do. Haight-Ashbury, Alcatraz and of course SHOPPING. I found some really cute things at H&M.

I posted a picture of my husband and myself on the way to Alcatraz. It was really cold so of course I had to wear my Twilght Jacket.
